Durham Region Garage Saved from Critical Slab Settlement
Challenge
When this homeowner in Durham Region called us, their once-stable garage floor had become a serious liability. Years of harsh weather, combined with poor initial sub-base preparation, had taken their toll. Freeze-thaw cycles caused the soil beneath the slab to shift and erode, leaving the concrete uneven, sloped, and unsafe. This wasn’t just an aesthetic issue—the settlement was significant enough to compromise the home’s envelope, threatening both safety and structural integrity.
Solution
Our team at Canadian Concrete Leveling approached the problem with a precise, minimally invasive solution. Using our high-density PolyLevel® polyurethane injection system, we carefully stabilized and lifted the garage slab back to its original position. The injection fills voids, reinforces weak soil, and allows us to level the concrete with pinpoint accuracy—without the need for costly demolition or replacement.
Once the slab was fully supported, we applied our durable NexusPro® sealant to all cracks and joints. This step ensures long-term protection against water intrusion and future freeze-thaw damage, giving the homeowner a garage floor that’s safe, stable, and built to last.
A dramatically improved garage floor, now fully stabilized and perfectly level, protecting the home’s envelope while saving the homeowner the expense and disruption of a full replacement. What was once a hazard is now a secure, long-lasting foundation for everyday use.
