Sinking Foundation Threatens Small Cottage in Severn Bridge, Ontario

The Trent Severn is one of the most famous waterways in Ontario. Many live directly on the water, while others use it as a channel to get to where they’re going.

The owner of a small cottage resort in Severn Bridge, Ontario, reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling after one of the small cottages had settled. The small building was built on a large concrete slab, and erosion from the nearby waterway had caused the entire building to lean.

Project Manager Paul Mendell met with the customer and inspected the cottage. Paul explained how our PolyLevel® System uses polyurethane injections to lift sinking concrete, and Foreman Kyle McKeown was tasked with the repair.

Kyle carefully injected our solution into dime-sized injection ports through the floor. He used a Zip-Level® tool to ensure the entire floor was lifting evenly. Once the repair was complete, we patched the holes with fresh concrete.

The customer is thrilled with the completed work. He is confident that the building is safe and sound, and he’s ready to sell it to the next eager cottager.

Trip Hazard Walkway Repair for Senior Safety in Markham, Ontario

After a serious fall involving her 97-year-old father, a homeowner in Markham became increasingly concerned about the safety of the uneven front walkway. With limited mobility and the use of a walker, even a minor height difference in the concrete had turned into a significant trip hazard, making everyday entry and exit from the home feel unsafe and stressful.

Wanting to prevent another incident, the homeowner reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling for a professional assessment and a permanent solution to the trip hazard. After a thorough inspection, it was determined that settlement beneath the concrete steps and walkway had created an unsafe height difference that required lifting and stabilization.

To correct the issue, the team used the advanced PolyLevel® polyurethane foam injection system. This minimally invasive concrete leveling method involves injecting high-density structural foam beneath the slab through small, dime-sized holes. As the foam expands, it fills voids, compacts weakened soil, and gently lifts the concrete back to a safe and even position.

Once the repair was completed, the walkway and steps were fully leveled and stabilized, eliminating the dangerous trip hazard. The homeowner was extremely relieved and grateful for the outcome, as her father can now safely use the walkway again with confidence and peace of mind. The family was especially appreciative of how quick, clean, and non-disruptive the process was, restoring both safety and independence at the front of the home.

Back Patio and Side Walkway Lift in Markham, ON

After a torrential downpour of rain, a home in Markham, Ontario had water pooling on the concrete patio at the back of the house. There was also water flowing towards the foundation on the walkway at the side of the house. The homeowner was worried that the water would begin to make its way into the basement causing many other issues.

The Canadian Concrete Leveling team was able to lift all affected concrete by using our PolyLevel® injection. There is no longer a 4-inch drop in the concrete and water will now flow away from the foundation. The customer is left with a safe, usable space and no longer has to worry about water pooling around their home causing damage.
