There are times when keeping our home safe requires extra help. We want to be able to repair everything ourselves. In most cases, doing it yourself is out of the question.
An elderly homeowner in Caledon, Ontario, realized her front steps were sinking. She was extremely worried the steps were becoming a dangerous trip hazard for her and visitors that would drop by. She knew she needed to call a professional company to fix the steps correctly but had no idea who to call.
After seeing one of our videos on Instagram, the homeowner decided to call Canadian Concrete Leveling. She met with Project Manager Joe McColl. He inspected the concrete steps and explained how our PolyLevel® System could lift and level them within a matter of a couple of hours. Feeling more at ease about finally getting the steps fixed, she got excited for the day the crew would arrive. She would be able to watch the work in progress!
Foreman Kyle McKeown drilled dime-sized holes in the bottom portion of the steps for the injection ports. As Kyle pumped our PolyLevel® product under the concrete, the homeowner watched the steps lift right in front of her eyes. Once the steps were level, Kyle patched the holes with fresh concrete.
The homeowner is thrilled the steps were safe to use again. She is so thankful for all of the hard work Joe and Kyle performed on her behalf. Watching the crew in action gave her complete peace of mind – she knew she wouldn’t have to worry about tripping on them anymore.
Uneven concrete walkways always pose safety issues. The concrete walkway at a home in Bolton, ON, was sinking along the front and side of the house. Tripping hazards were everywhere. The sinking concrete was also affecting the patio – it was starting to crack. The homeowner wanted to find a solution quickly for the walkway. Not only did he want to keep his family safe, but his parents also lived in the house, and he didn’t want them to worry about using the walkway or the patio.
The homeowner found Canadian Concrete Leveling and gave us a call. Our Project Lead went to speak to the homeowner and explain how our PolyLevel Injection System could fix the walkway and patio permanently. Our Foreman, Kyle McKeown, and installation team set up the PolyLevel equipment and injected polyurethane through dime-sized holes in the concrete walkway and patio. The polyurethane lifted and stabilized the concrete in both places – the entire area was level once again.
The homeowner was excited the walkway could be used again safely for everyone in the house. He was surprised the PolyLevel system could be installed so quickly within a few hours.
As we grow older, things we used to not worry about start to become possible safety hazards.
In Kleinburg, Ontario, a customer reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling to deal with his sinking front steps. His elderly parents were starting to struggle walking up the incline, and he was concerned it was only a matter of time before someone fell.
Project Manager Paul Mendell met with the homeowner and addressed his concerns. Paul explained how our PolyLevel® System uses high-density polyurethane to lift sinking concrete while stabilizing the soils below.
Foreman Kyle McKeown drilled dime-sized holes in the concrete surface to use as injection ports for the polyurethane. As the polymers mix, they expand, lifting the step back to a safe height.
The customers can’t believe how fast the repair was. Our crew was finished in half a day’s work, and the homeowner is looking forward to having his parents over again.
What was once a drop, is now level. One of our Installation Foreman's, Kyle McKeown, installed PolyLevel® to raise and stabilize these stairs. Now, our clients no longer have a trip hazard in the back of their mind.
The front entrance of a home in Mississauga had become increasingly unsafe as the concrete patio continued to settle and slope over time. What began as a minor dip gradually developed into a noticeable step-down, creating an uneven walking surface that made daily entry and exit both awkward and hazardous. As the slope worsened, the patio began directing water back toward the home instead of away from it, leading to pooling beneath cracks and gaps in the concrete. Over time, this allowed rainwater to migrate toward the foundation and contribute to basement moisture concerns.
The issue was originally caused by poorly compacted soil beneath the patio at the time of construction. As the concrete was poured over loose soil, uneven settlement occurred beneath the slab. Over the years, small voids formed under the patio, allowing water to wash through and carry away additional soil. This ongoing erosion made the settlement worse and increased the risk of water infiltration along the foundation wall, where existing cracks allowed moisture to enter the basement.
To permanently resolve the issue, Canadian Concrete Leveling recommended a combined repair approach using the PolyLevel® polyurethane foam injection system along with NexusPro® joint sealant. The PolyLevel® system was used to carefully lift and stabilize the sunken patio by injecting high-density structural foam through small, minimally invasive holes. As the foam expanded, it filled voids beneath the slab, compacted loose soil, and restored the concrete to a safe and level position. Once the slab was stabilized, NexusPro® joint sealant was applied to the gaps between the patio and adjacent structures to prevent further water intrusion and protect against future washout.
Once the work was completed, the front patio was fully leveled, the trip hazard was eliminated, and drainage was restored away from the home. The homeowner was extremely pleased with the results and now has a safe, stable, and watertight entrance that protects both the foundation and the long-term integrity of their home.
