Repairing a Pool Deck in Toronto, ON
Homeowners from Toronto had many difficulties with their pool area that they needed to attend to and were looking for an affordable, effective solution they could use. After asking around and doing some research of their own, they ran in to Clarke Basement Systems and Canadian Concrete Leveling and they found an interesting, affordable solution called PolyLevel which is a structural grade polymer used as a superior alternative to mudjacking, to raise and level broken concrete slabs, patios, driveways and sidewalks. They decided to go this route and now they have a very nice pool deck and have removed all potential trip hazards surrounding the pool. Now these homeowners can enjoy their pool.
Cracked Concrete Created a Trip Hazard, Toronto, ON
A home in Toronto, Ontario had a sinking slab on the front walkway. The walkway had cracked across the middle and one half of the slab was sinking towards the crack creating a trip hazard and causing water to pool on the walkway after heavy rain. During the winter the pooling water in this area would freeze and cause a slip hazard as well. The customer wanted this to be fixed so that there would be no more safety hazard.  The customer called Canadian Concrete Leveling to fix the problem. John DiNicolantonio explained to the customer that it would be a quick fix and comes with complete warranty. Billy McKeown and the team used PolyLevel polyurethane System to level the walkway, eliminating the trip hazard. The polyurethane travels through the voids underneath the concrete and expands, allowing for us to lift the slab and stabilize the substrate to prevent further settlement. They covered the crack with NexusPro Joint Sealant to prevent water from making its way between the slabs again. The customer is left with a safe and usable walkway. They were very pleased that they could have the walkway fixed at a fraction of the cost of concrete replacement.
Large Step Caused Trip Hazard, Toronto, ON
A home in Toronto, Ontario, had a concrete slab in the front of the house that had sunken. This was causing a trip hazard to the homeowner because the last step was too high and they had mobility issues. There was a fear from the family that someone would tripp and fall.  The customer called Clarke Basement System and Ron Monk explained what would be done. Bill Mckeown and the Canadian Concrete Leveling  Team came in and injected PolyLevel polyurethane beneath the concrete slab to lift and stabilize it. The walkway is now lifted to the original pour line allowing for the step to be smaller. The customer was satisfied because it made the walkway safer and eliminated trip hazards.
Branksome Hall School Walkway Leveling, Toronto, ON
Branksome Hall, a school in Toronto, Ontario had uneven pavement on the walkway of the school. There were some slabs that were uneven and not leveled with each other. There were also some slabs slanted towards a hill and that was causing students to slip off the pathway and down the hill during the winter. This was becoming a serious safety issue. The owner of the school called Canadian Concrete Leveling to come fix these hazards before the school year started up again.  Our Canadian Concrete Leveling team came in and drilled dime sized holes in the affected areas. They then pumped PolyLevel injection into the holes to fill the space under the concrete to lift and stabilize the slabs. They then needed to make sure the slab was slanted away from the hill, they used a jack to hold up the slab on one side so they could continue to use the PolyLevel polyurethane to fill the void. The Canadian Concrete Leveling team completed the job before school started so that the owner did not have to worry about trip hazards and unsafe walkways for the students.
Sinking Floor Causing Hazard and Separating Bricks, Toronto, ON
A home in Toronto, Ontario, had a problem with the basement floor. The Back half of floor had sunk down 2 inches. There was a large gap between floor and baseboards. The Stone wall next to fireplace was separating in the middle of the wall as well. The biggest concern was that the elderly woman living in the home might trip when going out of the back door. Another concern, was that the stone facing would separate and fall off. The customer called Canadian Concrete Leveling and spoke to Paul Mendell who explained the process of our solution. Bill McKeown  and Kyle McKeown came in and used our PolyLevel injection system.  The PolyLevel was injected under the floor, to lift it back to it’s original height and permanently stabilize it. Dime sized holes were drilled in specific areas and the high-density polymer was injected under the floor slab. The customer now has a peace of mind that the home is safe, without trip hazards and the stone wall facing was safely stabilized.
Warehouse Lifted and Leveled using PolyLevel® in Toronto, ON
Contracting Company in Toronto, ON, needed to have their sinking concrete flooring lifted and leveled in their warehouse. Due to the heavy equipment brought in and out of the warehouse, it caused the foundation underneath the concrete floors to sink. They knew that the problem would only get worse and worse and eventually, the floor would sink to the point where it would be nearly impossible to move their equipment out of the warehouse. Luckily for them, they knew who to contact. The owners called Canadian Concrete Leveling for their free estimate where shortly after, Project Manager, Paul Mendell went to the site to assess the damage. He concluded that a PolyLevel® Injection would lift and level the concrete back to its original height. Once there was a plan set, Installation Foreman, Bill McKeown and his crew got to work. They injected the Polyurethane into the floor and lifted and leveled the concrete back to its initial stature. Now, the owners are contented that they can safely and efficiently utilize their warehouse once again.
Keswick Homeowners Lift Their Garage Floor to Safety
These homeowners in Keswick were growing increasingly frustrated with their garage. Over time, the concrete slab had begun to sink, leaving uneven sections, widening gaps, and creating a trip hazard every time they walked through. What started as a small annoyance had slowly turned into a real safety concern.   Determined to find a lasting solution, they explored their options. Traditional mudjacking seemed messy and temporary, so they kept looking until they discovered PolyLevel — a modern, clean, structural-grade polymer known for its precision and long-lasting results. It felt like the perfect answer.   When the team arrived, the transformation was quick. PolyLevel was injected beneath the slab, expanding to fill hidden voids and gently lifting the concrete back into place. The process was precise, controlled, and efficient — and within a short time, the floor was stable and level once again.     Today, their garage feels like a new space. No more uneven surfaces, no more trip hazards — just a safe, solid, level floor they can enjoy for years to come.
Polylevel® Injections on Flagstone Staircase, Gormley, ON
Our client in Gormley, Ontario, had some sinking steps and a large crack on the top flagstone. For such beautiful steps, the issue had frequent guests such as the mailman and family members tripping on the staircase. Our client wanted to renovate the house, but knowing that the stairs are a hazard, he wanted to make sure it was fixed before proceeding elsewhere.    Our client wanted to fill the gap between the staircase and porch of the home and seal it off to the point where you don't even know work was done. Good thing we offer technologies that do those exact things. Our leveling is typically done with a lifting polyurethane solution called Polylevel®.The leveling solution is an injectable polymer that lifts any sinking concrete to your desired height and only takes 60 minutes to cure. As for our crack sealer, we use NexusPro®, which is essentially a silicone spread that is malleable and sun-protected; this product will never dry off and last a lifetime.    With the two products installed and cured, our customer was amazed by the little to no time it took and the professional job. The staircase looked brand new and left the house looking dapper. From eyesore to wow sore!
Saving a Leaning Shed: Polyurethane Lifts East York Slab
In East York, Ontario, a homeowner noticed that their shed had started to lean slightly to the right. The culprit was a cracked and settled concrete slab underneath the structure, a problem that, if left unaddressed, could cause further structural damage over time. Concerned about the safety and stability of their shed, the homeowner reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling for a solution. Our project manager visited the property to provide an in-person assessment. After inspecting the slab and the surrounding area, they explained how our process would lift the slab and stabilize the structure, giving the homeowner confidence in the plan. Once approved, our crew arrived to carry out the work. Using PolyLevel® high-density polyurethane injections, the team carefully lifted and leveled the concrete slab, bringing the shed back to its original, stable position. To protect the surface and prevent future water damage, we applied our premium crack and joint sealant to fill the existing cracks and safeguard the slab.   The result was a perfectly level shed with professionally sealed cracks—restoring both functionality and peace of mind. The homeowner was delighted to see the structure stabilized and secure, knowing the concrete foundation was now properly supported and protected for years to come.
Something's Crooked Here
In a perfect world, everything beautiful and good would last forever. Unfortunately for us human beings, that is not a privilege of our reality. Everything in our universe has a beginning and an end. From planets to fruit flies, all things inevitably will end. The same goes for concrete. We all wish it lasted forever, but sadly it does not. Concrete slabs commonly shift, heave and crack over long, extended periods. The soil in the ground moves with the earth, expanding and contracting depending on various factors. The most common culprit is that of Frost Heave. Essentially Kryptonite to concrete, Frost Heave is the term used to describe the slow, gradual process of water accumulating under concrete slabs; it then freezes over the winter only to thaw again come the spring. This cycle causes the water bubbles to expand and contract further, moving soil around it. Over a long enough period, the shifting of the earth below will be apparent as your concrete slabs begin to move unwittingly. This customer in Orillia, Ontario, grew frustrated over their walkway slabs that we're continuing to move around and crack year by year. They wanted to have this issue taken care of before the snow started to fall. The customer reached out to us at Canadian Concrete Leveling for our professional, friendly, and courteous service. After completion, they regained full use of their walkway and could be comfortable knowing their guests would be safe from hazards and their concrete safe from cracking.
