Canadian Concrete Leveling Job Stories

Our client in Gormley, Ontario, had some sinking steps and a large crack on the top flagstone. For such beautiful steps, the issue had frequent guests such as the mailman and family members tripping on the staircase. Our client wanted to renovate the house, but knowing that the stairs are a hazard, he wanted to make sure it was fixed before proceeding elsewhere.    Our client wanted to fill the gap between the staircase and porch of the home and seal it off to the point where you don't even know work was done. Good thing we offer technologies that do those exact things. Our leveling is typically done with a lifting polyurethane solution called Polylevel®.The leveling solution is an injectable polymer that lifts any sinking concrete to your desired height and only takes 60 minutes to cure. As for our crack sealer, we use NexusPro®, which is essentially a silicone spread that is malleable and sun-protected; this product will never dry off and last a lifetime.    With the two products installed and cured, our customer was amazed by the little to no time it took and the professional job. The staircase looked brand new and left the house looking dapper. From eyesore to wow sore!  

In a perfect world, everything beautiful and good would last forever. Unfortunately for us human beings, that is not a privilege of our reality. Everything in our universe has a beginning and an end. From planets to fruit flies, all things inevitably will end. The same goes for concrete. We all wish it lasted forever, but sadly it does not. Concrete slabs commonly shift, heave and crack over long, extended periods. The soil in the ground moves with the earth, expanding and contracting depending on various factors. The most common culprit is that of Frost Heave. Essentially Kryptonite to concrete, Frost Heave is the term used to describe the slow, gradual process of water accumulating under concrete slabs; it then freezes over the winter only to thaw again come the spring. This cycle causes the water bubbles to expand and contract further, moving soil around it. Over a long enough period, the shifting of the earth below will be apparent as your concrete slabs begin to move unwittingly. This customer in Orillia, Ontario, grew frustrated over their walkway slabs that we're continuing to move around and crack year by year. They wanted to have this issue taken care of before the snow started to fall. The customer reached out to us at Canadian Concrete Leveling for our professional, friendly, and courteous service. After completion, they regained full use of their walkway and could be comfortable knowing their guests would be safe from hazards and their concrete safe from cracking.

Not many people may think about the struggles someone may have getting around on their own. Our customer in Markham, Ontario, had a mobility disability and struggled with using the front walkway of their home. The concrete slabs had settled creating trip hazards and forcing water to pool near the garage causing water damage. The primary concern was that the uneven concrete could cause serious injuries. Also, they were looking to sell the house in the near future and wanted it fixed.   After reaching out to Canadian Concrete Leveling an appointment was set up with System Design Specialist, Ron Monk. Ron recommended installing Polyurethane and NexusPro™ Sealant. The Polyurethane allows our team to lift and level settled concrete, the Polyurethane pushes down on the loose soils underneath and raises the slab eliminating trip hazards. The NexusPro™ Sealant is injected along the expanded joints and cracks to seal the concrete preventing water from seeping through.   Our customer is happy that the concrete is leveled and that our team has eliminated all the tripping hazards. The walkway is now safe and the home is ready to sell shortly.

Our customer in Markham, Ontario, had a concern with a concrete slab located on the right side of their home. The slab had sunken near the house, directing rainwater towards the foundation. Our customer's concern was that the pooling water would lead to further damages. Also, on top of the slab sat a pool heater and a pump. Since the heater was sitting at an angle, the flame was not aiming where it was supposed to, resulting in damaging the heater.   Our customer knew to call Canadian Concrete Leveling, after previously having a job completed by our company. An appointment was then set up with Project Lead, Paul Mendell. Paul advised our customer about all the benefits Polyurethane would do to fix their issue. Kyle and Steve, injected our expanding Polyurethane under the concrete.   How does Polyurethane work? Polyurethane fills the voids underneath the slab, then lifts and stabilizes the concrete back to the original height.   Our customer was pleased with the job. The slab is now stabilized and ready for a new pool heater. Water is no longer directed towards the home giving our customer peace of mind that no future damage will occur.

The homeowner was devastated that her 97-year-old father had tripped on her walkway last year. He could no longer risk stepping onto the hazardous stairs with his walker. He refused to leave the house due to his fear of falling. This customer in Toronto, Ontario, was experiencing heaving in their garage floor. A large, significant crack was forming along the floor of their garage. Noticeably getting worse year by year, the crack had already shifted enough to create a 1-inch lip in the floor. An obvious tripping hazard and not one that you want in a garage where you store your belongings. Limiting access to their storage space and wreaking havoc on their peace of mind, the customer reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling for help. Installation Foreman Bill McKeown and his team arrived on the Jobsite and immediately began their meticulous process of releveling the concrete. After small holes are drilled down into the concrete, we inject our robust and patented material PolyLevel® underneath the concrete filling in the voids and then lifting the entire slab. After raising the slab 1 inch and making the garage accessible again, the customer was elated to have their space back.

Washago, ON, homeowners noticed that half of their back patio was slanting towards the home. Next, they found a crack right in the middle – one side was levelled, and the other seemed to be sinking toward the house. Not thinking anything of it, the following day, there was heavy rainfall. They saw the water sloping down the patio and pooling at the home's foundation. It was time to call professionals to handle this before it got worse and started leaking into the basement. Mike M. noticed that his swimming pool deck started to sink unevenly and began pulling the coping liner away from the swimming pool.
