Canadian Concrete Leveling Job Stories

A new Gazebo in a family backyard was ready to be used this summer when the homeowners discovered a significant change in the concrete position leveling. They realized it had begun to sink and grew concerned they would need to replace the concrete completely, which would cost them a hearty amount of money. This customer in Waterdown, Ontario, was growing increasingly concerned about a noticeable crack in the slabs surrounding their backyard pool. Shifting of the earth underneath the ground is a common culprit that causes this issue. This customer’s concrete slab had moved so much to the point where it was creating a dangerous lip, which is already a tripping hazard but will continue to get worse over time. A home in Stayner, Ontario had a walkway that sank towards the home and the steps had also sank, tilting down.  Rainwater was running towards the foundation wall and the homeowner was worried it would leak into the basement. The top step of the porch was too high and the homeowner knew it was difficult for their older parent to use the steps.  The customer called Canadian Concrete Leveling and spoke to Paul Mendell who explained the solution we had to their problem. Bill Mckeown and Kyle Mckeown came and used PolyLevel Injection and NexusPro Sealant. We injected the high density, structural grade polymer, to lift and stabilize the walkway and front steps. After leveling, the sealant was applied along the home wall and around the steps. The walkway was lifted and stabilized back to its original pour level, so that water runs away from the home. The steps were lifted back to correct height and straightened. Applying NexusPro Sealant afterwards, ensured that no water could penetrate between the walkway and wall, as well as behind or under the steps.  The customer was satisfied with the job and it gave them the peace of mind that their steps were now safely back to the correct height and that no water could get down the foundation wall.

Homeowners Jim and Cheryl have an amazing home in Milton, ON but had some issues with their Backyard, specifically around the pool area that they felt had to be fixed because of all the cracks and unleveled surfaces. A home in Bolton, Ontario had problems located at both the front and side of the house. The concrete walkway that surrounds most of the house was sinking in various areas causing tripping hazards in the walkway. When the concrete patio was poured the substrate was not properly compacted/compressed. Over time the weight of the concrete has further compressed the loose substrate—leading to the sinking and cracking in the patio. With the concrete sloping towards the home it allowed for rainwater to pool along the foundation which could lead to a basement water. The uneven concrete was a safety hazard as the customer’s parents lived in the home as well. The customer called Canadian Concrete Leveling and talked to John DiNicolantonio who explained our solution to the problem. Kyle McKeown came in and used our PolyLevel Injection System. It is injected beneath the concrete to lift and level the slabs. Our polyurethane injection compresses the substrate and then lifts the concrete, thus ensuring that the area is protected from further settlement. The customer is satisfied that all the tripping hazards have been removed and the walkway now slopes away from the home.  

Do you have an uneven garage floor? Well, trust us, you're not alone. Homeowners face this prevalent problem because of soil settlement beneath their homes. However, if left unfixed, you risk other issues, such as structural complications. Take this homeowner in Collingwood, for example; he called us concerned with the uneven concrete in his garage and was worried that it would cause the garage walls to cave in or collapse. This family pool in Oakville, Ontario needed some TLC on its pool deck. Fearful of the expenses to replace the concrete, they called Canadian Concrete Leveling for our expertise on the best approach to repair their problem. Sunken concrete originates from poor soil conditions. Over time the loose soils compress and washout causing the concrete to settle. Our customer had replaced part of their concrete walkway because it had severely settled causing it to crack. Our customer had noticed more signs of settling and did not want to pay a significant amount of money to have the whole walkway replaced again.   Luckily, they called Canadian Concrete Leveling! System Design Specialist, John DiNicolantonio, met with our customer and provided a cost-efficient solution for their settled concrete issue. Foreman, Billy injected Polyurethane that expands under the sunken concrete and compresses against the loose soils to lift and stabilize the walkway. The Polyurethane protects against further settlement.   Our customer is satisfied and happy that our company was able to offer a permanent solution. The walkway is now level and protected with our lifetime warranty!
