Concrete Island Causing a Serious Hazard, Whitby, ON

A parking lot in Whitby, Ontario, had a concrete slabs that had sunken substantially on the inside the curb. This was causing many potential trip hazards for visitors to the Center. The Engineering Technician from the Town of Whitby wanted to fix this problem as soon as possible, before someone got hurt.

The customer called Canadian Concrete Leveling to fix the island in the parking lot.  Our team injected PolyLevel into the sunken slabs. This lifted the concrete back to its original pour line and stabilized the concrete slab. The trip hazard is no longer existent and the technician is happy know they don't have to worry about it anymore.

Concrete Pool Deck Sinks Away from Wooden Patio in Whitby, Ontario

We all want our backyards to look great, and we put a lot of work to achieve this goal. When something gets in the way that’s out of our control, it can be understandably frustrating.

A homeowner in Whitby, Ontario, has a beautiful backyard with a pool and a wooden deck. The concrete around his pool used to sit flush with the deck, but over time, the slabs had settled. This created a dangerous and unsightly lip between the concrete and wood boards. Tired of looking at the hazard, the customer decided to call Canadian Concrete Leveling.

Project Manager Kyle O’Brien met with the frustrated client and inspected his backyard. The customer was concerned the concrete and deck would have to be redone. To his surprise, Kyle showed him how we could lift and level the concrete in just a day’s work and with minimal disruption.

Eager to learn more, the customer asked what made our product stand out against our competitors.

Kyle explained that we use a system called PolyLevel®, which uses a combination of two different polymers. As these polymers are mixed beneath the concrete, they expand, lifting the slab and compressing fill soils below. PolyLevel® weighs less than 10% of the material weight the competition uses and cures in less than an hour.

Foreman Kyle McKeown started the repair by drilling dime-sized holes in the concrete surface as injection ports. He injected our PolyLevel® System in a controlled manner, lifting the concrete back to a level grade with the deck.

The customer is very relieved that we could do the work without destroying half of his backyard, as other companies had proposed. His pool deck is secure and protected, and the risk of tripping has been eliminated.

One Project at a Time

Homeowners in Whitby, Ontario, were hoping to work on a project this summer that required their concrete to be level to do the job correctly. Unfortunately, they discovered that two areas in their pool area had settled, and one had cracked. They called CCL, and we provided them with a free quote and expertise from our knowledgeable Project Manager, Joe McColl.

The customers liked what Joe proposed and decided to proceed with the project. The installation done by foreman Mike Henderson required our PolyLevel® polyurethane injection. Next, they sealed the cracked area with NexusPro® which will again adhere to the two slabs. Our happy customers could not get over how quickly the job was done and how effective the team was.

Sinking Pool Deck Puts a Stop to Family Fun in Whitby, Ontario

Watching kids grow from infant to toddler is an exciting time for any parent. Children are starting to find their sense of curiosity during this age, and love to explore everywhere they can.

For parents in Oshawa, Ontario, an unsafe pool deck forced them to bring a halt to their kid’s backyard adventures. A cracked and uneven pool deck was a huge tripping hazard for their little ones and was a sore spot when having company over. They take pride in their home and unfortunately, inherited the cracks when they purchased the house, not realizing it would be such an issue.

Tired of the embarrassment and looking to give some freedom back to their kids, they reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling.

Project Manager Kyle O’Brien met with the family at their home and inspected the pool deck. He recommended our PolyLevel® injection System to level the concrete slabs and our NexusPro® System to seal the cracks.

The customers booked a date for the repairs, and Foreman Kyle McKeown and Installation Specialist Mark Sealy completed the work. After a few minimally invasive injections to lift the concrete slabs and fill any voids, the tripping hazards were gone. The cracks were sealed, preventing moisture from getting beneath the concrete. Our sealant process also improves the aesthetic of the concrete significantly.

The customers are thrilled they can finally enjoy their pool without the hazards looming over them. Their sense of pride for their backyard has returned, and they’re happy to have friends and family over once again!

Garage Settling in Oshawa, ON

A homeowner in Oshawa, Ontario recently installed a new car lift in their garage. As they were working, they realized there was a sizeable void under the concrete floor. The homeowner was concerned that the concrete would not be stable enough to support a lift and a car. It might cause the substrate to settle even more and possibly damage his new car.

Our Project Lead for Canadian Concrete Leveling, visited the homeowner to take a look at what was happening with the garage floor and offered a few suggestions to fix the problem. In order to keep the lift and his new car safe, he suggested our PolyLevel® Injection system. It uses polyurethane to fill gaps and voids under concrete. Billy McKeown, Foreman, drilled small dime-sized holes through the concrete and injected the polyurethane under the slabs to lift, level and stabilize the garage floor.

The customer was extremely happy that we could give him peace of mind with a permanent concrete repair for his garage in such a short time.
